Taco Trucks
discovering the stories behind the tacos…
After years of delighting at the abundance and variety of taco trucks across much of the western United States, I realized how little I knew about the people filling my life with such joy one taco at a time.
This was the beginning of a small personal project to create portraits of the owners of taco trucks I encountered in my wanderings. Now, the project is ready to grow. Joining me in this project is Florangela Davila, a seasoned multimedia journalist from south Seattle (land of many taco trucks). Learn more about Florangela’s work on LinkedIn and Instagram.
Together we are embarking to uncover the stories of the individuals that have made it their mission to deliver Mexican street food across the cities and countryside of Washington State and beyond. We hope that uncovering and sharing these stories will lead to a greater appreciation of this unique and largely overlooked aspect of the American entrepreneurial spirit unfolding in gas station parking lots, vacant lots, construction sites, and anywhere else you can gather a crowd of people craving tacos!
